Review: The Accidental Vampire

The Accidental Vampire - Lynsay Sands

Elvi is an accidental vampire, somehow turned on a vacation to Mexico. For the past five years she has been living opening in the town of Port Henry, dressing in slinky outfits and biting the town boys once they turn eighteen. Everything she knows about vampires she learned while watching Bram Stoker's Dracula, so she is stunned to learn that she is a vampire due to advanced technology rather than a curse. She is not soulless, can look in a mirror, and doesn't need to sleep in a coffin... And what is a woman to do when she discovers that she can eat cheesecake again?

Lynsay Sands' Argeneau series will always be a favorite of mine. but there are some books within the series that I get in the mood to read over and over. The Accidental Vampire, the seventh book in the series, is one of those. The author's sense of humor comes through strongly, while introducing us to new characters and bringing in - or mentioning - ones we've already grown to love.

I loved Victor, Elvi, Harper, DJ, Teddy... Hell, I loved everyone in this book! Even the "bad" people aren't bad, and sometimes a crossbow is just a misunderstanding between friends.
