Review: Baylee Breaking
Chase has been burned. Taken to the courts and stripped of more than half of everything when he divorced his cheating ex-wife, he doesn't want to get involved with anyone again. When he runs into Baylee, though, all thoughts of being alone go out the window. Not only does she arouse him, but he also finds himself wanting to protect her from whatever he's hiding from.
Baylee has a past as well, but she finds that running can only take you so far. When she finds herself with no where to go and no one to turn to, she finds a Knight in Shining Armor in the shape of Chase. But is she ready to put her past behind her and love again?
I'm a sucker for happy romances, and this is one. Like every romance, it has its ups & downs, which has to happen or the story isn't believable. Simone Beaudelaire does a really good job at making characters who are human, flaws and all, that you want to like and plots that keep you interested. Set in modern times, this story captures real life circumstances with selfish people, custody battles, and the pain of falling in love again when you're been hurt. This isn't your traditional "Happily Ever After" story but it shouldn't be. Instead, it's a window into a love story that keeps going even after the last page has been turned.
The author has written two versions of this story: The Sweet Romance version and the Steamy Romance version. These versions are similar however the Steamy Romance version does include sex. If you would prefer a romance without the whole messy-fun-sex part, the Sweet Romance version contains the same great characters and plot but is suited to more innocent eyes.
NOTE: I was lucky enough to proofread this book before it was released - thank you to the author!
