Review: Underneath
A sinkhole appears and swallows the Governor, changing the groundbreaking ceremony to a quest for answers. Entering the deep and dark hole that mysteriously opened beside the Clifden Museum of Ancient History, the remnants of an ancient civilization is found, built in a system of underground caves.
The Governor is only the first to disappear.
When an Empath begins work at the museum, the aura of malevolent emotions and memories overwhelms the senses and brings dread to those even slightly sensitive. With the underground city of Garneria holding unknown secrets, will Rebecca survive to regret accepting this job?
Underneath is appropriately creepy. It is long enough to give you chills down your spine while being short enough so that you may still be able to sleep at night... Your next journey into a cave may be a different experience, however. As this is a short story, the emphasis is on the discovery of Garneria and the resulting experiences, with some character development establishing the main character and introducing a few minor characters. An opening is left for a possible sequel or longer book, while still telling a complete story. I'm very happy with this story and I look forward to reading more by this author!
