Review: Guardians of the Gate City

Guardians of the Gate City is a collection of short stories are revolving around a man named Harry, the Guardian of both the city and the Undertown. Working as a liaison between humans and Others, Harry's job is to protect the innocent...Especially those who aren't human and can't expect to be treated fairly if they were brought before a human court. But not every Other is innocent, and sometimes darkness lurks where you thought it was safe.
I highly enjoyed this series. Harry is a tall man who loves to eat, and is as flawed as the people around him, with a running stream of consciousness that sometimes makes me laugh more than it should. Sure, he has some powers that give him an advantage, but it is more so that he is magic rather than that he has magic to use. Friends with witches, priests, shifters, and humans, Harry uses his unusual connections to piece together the truth of what is happening and how to fix whatever is wrong.
This collection contains laughter, danger, intrigue, betrayal, and food...Lots of food.
