Review: Date and Dash

Date and Dash (Better Date than Never Book 10) - Susan Hatler

Date and Dash is the tenth story in Susan Hatler's Better Date than Never series, and continues the theme of sweet romance.

Not everything is perfect in Mary Ann's world. Not only has she had to deal with "Gilligan Island" cracks her entire life, but she also has to deal with a feeling of inferiority, especially when compared to her sister, Ginger. While Ginger has a successful new career as an Interior Designer and a loving boyfriend, Mary Ann holds back from letting go of her heart, afraid to be betrayed and hurt again. And while she enjoys her job, the boss' nephew is taking credit for her work, and Mary Ann is afraid to speak up. When she discovers that a family heirloom is being auctioned off for charity, she impulsively goes to bid on it... and finds out too late that a mis-bid has her as part of a dating reality show, with her partner the stuffy - but gorgeous - man she rear-ended on the way to the auction!

Mary Ann's antics are hilarious to read, and I loved learning more about this character as she slowly opened her heart and learned to trust herself. Trevor, the love interest, is a great character, with a caring personality. Watching them learn about each other over the course of the dating show allows us to learn who both of them really are and how they are both struggling to deal with their pasts.

It was also nice to see references to prior characters and books. The author has done a really great job of linking all of these stories together to that you're constantly learning about characters from the previous stories, while making sure that each individual story that be enjoyed by itself as well.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I loved it so much I purchased!
