Review: The Boxcar Children

The Boxcar Children & Los chicos del vagón de carga (The Boxcar Children/Los chicos del vagón Book 1) - Gertrude Chandler Warner

The Boxcar Children was one of my favorite books growing up - the first Boxcar Children book, not the sequels. It was fun and sweet, the story of two brothers and two sisters on a quest to find a place for themselves and be self-sufficient, hoping to stay away from a grandfather they think hates them. This book is geared toward children but it fun and enjoyable for all ages, making this a classic. Since I have long since lost my original hardcover version of this, I was excited to see that it was being released in ebook format, complete with the original simple artwork from the interior of the book.

This book also contains a Spanish version of the same story, which is great if you have a bilingual child or if you want to introduce your child to another language. My Spanish is rudimentary, but from what I was able to read this is a good translation.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
