Review: Frog Tea [Kindle Edition]

Frog Tea - Alina Paduraru

Not what you think it will be...

This book is probably one of the strangest and most interesting that I've read in a while. It starts out a little slow, but it doesn't take too long for the storyline to get interesting. The normal cast of characters: You have the guy who is the outcast, who likes a girl. You have another guy, who is the friend to the same girl and also likes her. And then you have a love potion (or is it?) that causes the girl to like the outcast. The friend is suspicious... or it is just jealousy?

And then there is the roommate, who is engaged to an older doctor. But somehow she also finds herself with the outcast boy intimately, and this starts off the mystery. Now we KNOW that something is wrong, and that the outcast boy, Alex, is doing something to make people want him. But can the answer be found in the tea leaves?

At the end of the story, you realize that the answers may not be what you thought they were going to be... partially because you didn't know the right questions to ask. And while the ending is happy for some, it reminds you that no one should get exactly what they ask for - because you never truly know what you want, or what the price will be to get it.
