Review: Satan's Forge [Kindle Edition]
Spiders.... why is it always spiders?!?!
I received a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.
Satan's Forge is the newest installment in "Star Sojourner: The Jules Rammis Series", however it also works as a stand-alone novel since the background of the Jules and the other characters is given to you in a way that seems natural.
This story really starts when Jules, a telepath, is kidnapped from Earth and brought to a planet via slave ship to work in the Lithium Mines, on a planet where slavery is legal. (NOTE: Ok, this part bothered me a little. Julies apparently has friends in high places and also has done a lot of work for Alpha, as mentioned in the beginning of the novel... so you think that someone would at least come out to investigate his disappearance, even if they couldn't make an official visit!) Anyway, it is up to Jules, a man who always seems to find trouble, to free himself and the others.
The pacing of this novel is very well done as well as the character growth. A couple of points were easily predictable but not in a way that ruined the storyline. This story was a quick read for me, and I enjoyed reading it. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in reading fun & futuristic stories.
Disclaimer: I'm massively arachnophobic - hence the title of this review. The spiders... they follow me everywhere! If you want to go on a spider-hunt, however, I suggest buying the book to find out where the spiders are!
