Review: Storm on Fifth Avenue [Kindle Edition]

Neil posts a nice duo of stories about the Empire State Building. The first story is set in 1930, where you listen to workers share the hallucinations they see of the ocean surrounding them. Amidst the sound of the waves splashing against the building, a feeling of sadness and hopelessness is felt. One man claims to see a Navy Officer who then disappears. What is the secret of the 58th and 59th floor, where these ghosts of the past seem to appear?
In 1978, we find ourselves back on the 58th floor of the Empire State Building, as a cleaning company tries to climb up the ladder by succeeding where other companies have failed. The publishing companies fired the previous companies for claiming to see things inside and outside of the building. Wes knows that these claims are outlandish.. but why does it look like the building is underwater? And what is floating in the water, getting closer and closer to the window?
If you're looking for a short story (or in this case, two short stories linked together) that has a touch of the macabre, I recommend Storm On Fifth Avenue by Neil Coghlan. Neil has a gift of providing just enough information to feel a chill up your spine without making you afraid to sleep.
