Review: Second Daughter (The Dharian Affairs, Book Two)

Second Daughter (The Dharian Affairs, Book Two) - Susan Kaye Quinn

Full of excitement and energy, Second Daughter is a great second book in The Dharian Affairs. Though Third Daughter Aniri agreed to marry Ash for love at the end of the first book, she is now having second thoughts about marriage. The night before her wedding, Aniri discovers that someone has tried to assassinate her older sister, the Second Daughter of Dharia and Princess of Samir. Aniri rushes off for another adventure in the skyship, this time to save her Seledri and discover Samir's plans for war.

Aniri has grown a lot since the beginning of the first book in The Dharian Affairs, but she is still a little bit insecure and selfish. While this doesn't make you dislike the character, I will admit that there were times that I really really wanted to smack her for her actions. Aniri's redeeming value is that she is very likeable and she tries hard to fix her mistakes... once she realizes what they are! In this action-packed novel, Aniri will not only have to deal with her feelings for Ash and their upcoming marriage, but also deal with her past with the return of both her father and her ex-lower, all while preparing Jungali for war.

And she was worried about planning a wedding?

NOTE: I received a copy of this book from NetGalley for review purposes.
